Last week, I went back to my alma mater and discussed emotions and design with graduate HCI students at DePaul University. I presented an updated version of my slidedeck on emotions and UX design during my 60 minutes presentation.
I was encouraged to find students came from the same diverse background as when I was in the program, from professionals from software development to business, as well as full-time students. I received several great questions, most of which related to the diversion from traditional ‘usability-first’ approach and toward ‘novel and engaging’ approach of design in the latest Logic Studio from Apple. The discussion gave me some ideas to improve my thinking and initiative to continue my advocacy on the topic.
