Google CEO Resigns from Apple’s Board

Google CEO Eric Schmidt steps down from Apple’s board of directors. Steve Jobs cites conflict of interests in a statement. With the pending FCC investigation on Apple’s rejection of the Google Voice app from their App store taking the spotlight, it is hardly a surprise. Also, now that Apple now has telephony and mobile services as it’s core businesses, protecting their relationship with customers (AT&T) just makes good business sense. How will this affect the integration of Google services in the iPhone OS? Should Google even care?
